Questions to Ask

Smart questions to ask your cake designer.

1) Will you bake my wedding/event cake from ‘scratch’ or from a cake mix?

Believe it or NOT, MANY local (Twin Cities) cake designers are using CAKE MIXES to make your wedding/event cake. Is that okay with you? 

The Cake Diva makes all of her cakes from scratch using pure ingredients including flour, sugar, organic eggs, organic butter (or canola oil), organic cream/butter, leavening, pure vanilla or almond extract, and rich imported European chocolate with NO ADDED preservatives, corn syrup, or shortening! And all of The Cake Diva’s ingredients are sourced locally (except for imported chocolate and cocoa powder) so you can feel great about supporting a small business.

2) Will you freeze my cake at any time during the process of making my wedding/event cake?

Many local bakeries and cake designers are freezing cakes in order to make as much profit as possible. Little care is taken in properly wrapping this frozen product, and the result is yucky-tasting cake: dry, crumbly with an ‘off’ freezer taste.

The Cake Diva NEVER FREEZES cake at any time during the making and designing of your wedding cake, and you will taste the difference!  My cakes are light and fluffy with a delicate crumb, and contain a great deal of moisture. They are delightfully flavored and the texture is divine!

3) Who will be baking, decorating, and delivering my wedding/event cake?

Some local bakeries employ bakers who have no idea the care needed to bake a perfectly moist cake. And their decorators and delivery staff have little experience to draw from when time to handle your dreamy dessert.

The Cake Diva mixes and bakes each cake so you KNOW you will receive an amazingly moist, perfectly baked cake!!! The Cake Diva also decorates and delivers your cake with over 9 years of awards and experience in using fondant, buttercream, and royal icing to decorate your cake beautifully.

4) Do you take credit cards?

Yes, I accept credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. An add’l processing fee of 3% or more will apply for choosing this type of payment.

I also accept cashier’s checks, money orders, or cash. I do NOT ACCEPT personal checks after experiencing too much trouble processing them.
